Formal Bio
S.L. Funk was born and raised in Wisconsin, US, and showed an early passion for the arts that continues to this day. In 2020, she posted the first chapter of her novella, The Monster I Feed, on the creator platform, StoryFire. The next day, it boosted to a featured series on the main page. In 2021, she won first place in the StoryFire Halloween Horrors Contest for her short horror story, The Accordion Train, and the next summer, she won another StoryFire writing contest with her entry, The Brass Cat. Her ability to capture the imagination and transport the reader to fantastical places through her elegant and detailed prose has garnered her a readership of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. When she isn’t working on her growing backlist, she’s likely drawing some digital art or playing with her kitty nieces, Biney and Sadie.
Informal Bio
I’m S.L. Funk, a writer with ADHD and a sleep disorder trying to stick to one topic. ๐งก๐โ๏ธ
In July 2021, I finished the first full manuscript, a novella, “The Monster I Feed.” I’m looking forward to what will come of that project in the coming year.
They say a writer has hundreds of ideas in his head for stories, well, let’s see if I can tame this madness.
When I’m not writing or trying to sleep a healthy amount, I dance, teach, and dabble in crocheting and digital art. I also love cats of all sizes. I wish I could play with big cats without them killing me with their giant, fluffy paws.
